Course and Course Map

Located just of the A64 between York and Malton, Castle Howard is set within 1,000 acres of the Howardian Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The routes take in the grounds surrounding the house, offering a variety of farm tracks, woods, before crossing an 18th century bridge and climb to the Temple of the Four Winds.

There will be a water station for the runners. All courses will be clearly marked with marshals stationed at key points along the route.

Distance markers are placed every 1km around the course.

Race Map

10km Route

(Exact distance 10.45km. Runners must be 16+ years)

• Runners will complete two laps of the route as described above.

5km Route

(Runners must be 13+ years)

• Runners will complete one lap of the route as described above.

Children's Fun Runs

1k for upto school year 2 and 2k for years 3-6

• The children's runs are held on the events field where the adult races begin and end.
